Hellen Waithira, born Rachel Hellen Waithira, is an actress from Nairobi, Kenya. Waithira’s passion for acting goes far back to when she could perform solo verses, skits, and took part in choral verses in her early school years.

 

Waithira’s name became a household name through award-winning shows like “Uriru wa Wendo” on Inooro TV (2015-2021) where she plays the character “Anita” which won her the award of Best Lead Actress Riverwood Academy Awards (2017) and Citizen TVs “Tabasamu” playing the role of “Gabby” which got her nominated for Chaguo la Teeniez awards (2011).

 

Waithira went on to join the team at Spielworks media and played the character “Lucy” in Jane and Abel (2013) and “Deka” in Sweetest Taboo (2014). She also starred in several DSTV’s Africa Magic Original Films (AMOF) such as blind fame, stolen dreams among others. She also played “Munira Hussein” in the political short film 1988.
