In a world of mixed cultures can love succeed?

Nubia, an interior designer with a new business, believes she has it all: a great job, a great fiancé and a soon-to-be-‘great’ mother-in-law (Philippa). Her perfect world is however rocked when Phillippa visits and decides to stay and invest in Kenya after her second divorce. She becomes cold and calculating in her bid to banish Nubia from her son’s life because Nubia is black, a plus-size woman and is not from a prestigious family. Phillippa will go to greater and greater lengths to make Nubia’s life a misery, who is somewhat consoled by the presence of her younger brother, Kwame, a young struggling entrepreneur trying to hustle.
