Q’s Idiosyncrasies: Q for Quitting

Q being a gentleman puts a limit to what he’s willing to do. He will gladly take a loss than do or endure through some challenges.

It’s either that or he will try all manner of trickery, top of the list being loopholes that he uses to escape or game the challenges to his favour: from making hit or miss bets to having guests fill in for him, the most prominent for that role being Joey Fatone.

And of course, when it goes too far, well, he’s ready to “quit” the show.

Notable Episodes

Impractical Jokers Season 2 Episode 22 Everything’s Just Rosie
Q fared pretty badly in the legendary “scoopski potato” challenge that saw Joe steal the show. Q didn’t even get one scoop! Reason? Well, he tried cutting corners as usual by emptying the whole bowl of mashed potatoes into a diner’s plate.

Too bad for him, the challenge was to get the highest number of scoops and not about who could offload the most potatoes.

Impractical Jokers Season 3 Episode 6 Toasted
This episode marks the first time Q had somebody else go for his turn, and who better for that task than Joey Fatone. The guys however went hard on him in his first guest starring role on the show by having him do amongst other daunting things, announce to the entire restaurant that he had shit his pants. Lucky for Q, Fatone came through for him and won the challenge.

Impractical Jokers Season 3 Episode 11 Takes the Cake
Q on this particular occasion looks the complete opposite of a homeless guy. He takes this opportunity to invade a dinner table with two patrons, pretending he’s independently wealthy, presumably with a yacht off the coast of Brooklyn.

He then uses this as a pretext to make an offer to the gentleman to spend the night with him, but then slyly adds that he will pay for the entire dinner they’re having – a clever loophole nobody else had thought of.

Consequently, he’s not kicked out from the table and gets a thumbs up for the challenge.

Impractical Jokers Season 3 Episode 14 Make Womb for Daddy
Q can’t call a woman ‘beef stick’ but fortunately Sal has no qualms about it, and so he does it without consulting Q. After the deed is done Q admits that he would have taken a loss than say it.

Joe picks this up and makes him say it or lose. Of course, he can’t do it and so he ends up netting a loss for both him and Sal.

Impractical Jokers Season 3 Episode 27 Parks & Wreck
Sal tries to get back at Q for having him drink the swimming pool water by having him do the same. Q declines by splashing the water right in Sal’s face and says he’d take a loss than do it.

Lucky for him, Joe tells him that if he does the original challenge that Sal had failed (talking to the kids about the birds and the bees) he wouldn’t have to take the loss. So Q accepts the new challenge and wins.

Impractical Jokers Season 4 Episode 8 Damned If You Do
Q has barely skated on the ice and is already contemplating quitting.

Impractical Jokers Season 5 Episode 26 Nitro Circus Spectacular
Fatome came through for Q on the Nitro Circus Spectacular obstacle course by coming in second after Murr who won the challenge. This time though Q wasn’t escaping another challenge as he had actually injured himself during the training.

Impractical Jokers Season 7 Episode 1 The Marathon Man
In this episode’s Impractical Insider segment, Q admits that he would never have agreed to doing Murr’s Brooklyn Bridge marathon punishment, and he would rather be thrown out of the show than do it.
